LeVar Burton sits down at Barnes & Noble

Literature 3 years ago

He’s been back in the news recently after funding a wildly successful Kickstarter to bring Reading Rainbow to every child everywhere. And with his new children’s book hitting the market October 7, LeVar Burton is on tour promoting “The Rhino Who Swallowed a Storm” through book signings and readings. One of which falls right around the corner from Farmer’s Daughter.

With the $5,000,000 raised through over 100,000 donors by Burton and Reading Rainbow, the show plans to bring their programming to every child through an interactive website, mobile app and additional programming. To help restart the production of this timeless show – one which any adult alive today either watched or had their children watch – since its PBS run ended in 2006. Burton’s dedication and role as Geordi LaForge in “Star Trek: The Next Generation” have kept him as a major role model for anyone familiar with his work, and earned him a dedicated following.

So, to all you Trekkies, Reading Rainbow supporters and anyone who wants to meet the extraordinary man behind it all, join Burton at Barnes & Noble located in The Grove Farmer’s Market on Thursday, October 16 at 7 p.m. for a reading and signing. This is, of course, a free event and parking at The Grove is encouraged.
